“Five stars for the Forest Walks, Urban Feasts Tour!
As a ‘nearly’ native and native Portlander, we had the best time learning about Forest Park and its neighbourhood. Our tour guide was lively, informative and engaging. My young adult (19) had a great time, and didn't have their phone out once while we were on the tour. I learned about things I had NO IDEA had happened in this city - in particular the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition - man made lakes, trolley cars and giant log buildings were all things new to me. It was the perfect balance of walking, tasting and talking. We were on city streets, in the most beautiful forest, and tasty restaurants. I think every stop was my favourite and I have been back to a few of them. It was an afternoon well spent. If you are new to the city, or think you know it all, this is a walking tour you want to be a part of.”

“What a fantastic tour!
Jim is very knowledgeable about the area, especially Forest Park and the history of this part of town. The food we stopped and enjoyed throughout was just the right amount, and included a diverse tasting of what Portland has to offer. I tried things that I would not have ordered myself, and loved all of it! I would happily return to any of the restaurants."

“Jim clearly loves food and Portland's Forest Park. Even more important, he enjoys sharing these loves with others.
I don't go on a lot of guided tours. I often find them dull and irrelevant. Jim is different. He makes Portland's history come alive; not with facts and figures but with fascinating stories - told on the very spot they happened along with photos showing how Portland looked over a hundred years ago. He's a gifted storyteller. His years on Alcatraz (as a professional guide not an inmate!) has clearly paid off.
I appreciate the care Jim takes in choosing a nice variety of food in a variety of venues: food cart, artisanal bakery, and restaurant. Along with beautiful scenery, the hike in Forest park helps burn off calories and whets your appetite for more stops afterward. I'd call it a moderately easy hike. You might not need hiking boots but definitely have at least good, sturdy walking shoes. (No sandals or heels!)
I felt like I got three tours seamlessly rolled into one. I came for the hike and the food but what I enjoyed most were Jim's stories about Portland's past."It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”

“I am a woman who is blind. A friend of mine and I attended one of Jim’s food Tours through Forest Park. It was absolutely outstanding!!!
He spent several hours with us. He informed us of not only the history of the park, but of the food establishments we ate at, many of the streets we were crossing, the landmarks we passed, landscaping information and various other things. He customized the tour completely to accommodate us since my friend and I are both blind. He gave fabulously detailed photo descriptions and patiently answered questions which arose. The food itself was delicious. Through the tour, Jim remained friendly, vibrant, and enthusiastic about his work. His energy was extremely palpable throughout our time with him.
If you are seeking a food tour from someone who is extremely gifted, passionate, creative, and incredibly knowledgeable about the subjects upon which he speaks, do not hesitate to book a food tour with Jim Breeden. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
